"A mistake repeated more than once is a decision."
This quote may hurt a bit, but it’s an honest moment we all have to have with ourselves when it comes to change. Granted there are always exceptions to the rule, but ask yourself - you want to lose weight right? Well, why do we keep doing the same behaviors over and over.
Granted psychologist can have a million reasons for you all the way to the point you get the option to blame your parents. But, let's take a moment…you know when you’re doing the behavior that gets you further and further from your goals, yet we still do it.
I always give the example of wanting Chick-Fil-A on a Sunday - you may want it, but you’re not going to get it. Same thing with cravings…they pass. Trust me, they suck and man are they hard to work through - but, know that they do pass. Take it day by day, learn with each temptation on where they may be coming from and learn for the next time you’re faced with the temptation.
LEARN from the “mistake” or temptation / craving. Then do better next time. IF we have learned, and yet will STILL make the same “mistake” / craving / temptation; then we have to accept that we are choosing the outcome. The food / drink / behavior is “doing” something for us.
Dig deeper, what is it doing for you? Then deal with that. I believe in you, I believe in me, let's crush these goals by figuring out what tempts us and what we’re getting out of the temptation. Then we can “choose” a new decision - our goals.
