    The cook will prepare food and follow ICON Meals’ recipes. Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to ICON’s menu, and following food health and safety procedures. 

    Must have the ability to cook, clean, stand for long periods of time, assist other cooks and staff and produce food in a fast-paced environment. Work may include, but is not limited to, operating a grill, oven, or flattop. Previous experiences in a team environment and various cooking methods is prefered. A positive attitude is strongly encouraged!

    Responsibilities:

    • Setting up, cleaning, and organizing workstations
    • Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.
    • Preparing oven, utensils, and grill for shift
    • Cooking while complying to food health and safety standards
    • Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes
    • Handling multiple recipes at one time
    • Ensuring recipe/plate has the correct food and sides
    • Delivering food order to plating staff in a timely manner
    • Storing all food properly
    • Sanitizing and cleaning workstations and utensils
    • Reordering stock and food supplies
    • Monitoring other cooks and team members
    • Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed

    Requirements:

    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
    • Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
    • Self-motivated and self-directed
    • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
    • Able to quickly memorize complex or multiple orders
    • High school degree or equivalent
    • Previous experience as a busboy, washer, waiter, cook, or relevant work experience
    • Able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends
    • Able to bend, move, and lift up to 50 pounds or more
    • Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift; able to lift up to 50 pounds or more
    • Must pass a background check
    • Able to read and write English
    • Flexible schedule

    Classification:

    • Non-Exempt
    • Hourly Grade Level

    Work Environment:

    While performing the Production Cook duties, the employee will work in a commercial kitchen environment. Temperature ranges between 65-90℉. 

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of the job, the employee stands for a long period of time, use of hands, fingers, talk, and listening.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Sunday, but a set schedule will be made at time of employment. The employee will not be working everyday. The first shift schedule is 6:30am-3:00pm, and the second shift schedule is 10:00am-6:30pm.
