ICON Meals are sealed with Vacuum Skin Packaging (VSP), which removes excess oxygen and slows bacterial growth. That is why the fridge shelf life is up to 14 days from the cook date when kept at 34–40°F.
Traditional meal prep in tupperware is usually 3–5 days because air exposure speeds oxidation and moisture loss. VSP keeps flavor and texture stable for longer.
Freezer guideline: you can freeze meals any time, but for best taste, freeze within 7 days of delivery and thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
